So now it's Spring in the Adirondacks
While many of my neighbors are closed till the end of April or May, we are open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.
We have decided to close Mondays until at least Memorial Day to conserve resources.
After Memorial Day we plan to reopen 7 days a week offering ice cream, deli sandwiches, local cheese and meats, locally crafted beer, and so much more.
Local history shows that our building has been here since 1898. Frank Kelly arrived in town and enlisted local builders to construct this five + story building into the existing landscape. It was easy to bring the horses up the ramp and into the stable below and the wagons were rolled inside at the street level, out of the weather, while owners boarded the train for business or pleasure in towns below.
My family purchased the property at 292 Main Street April 1st 1995 and we opened for business Thanksgiving weekend 1996. Since that day we have expanded in many ways. Not only have we filled the 7,000 sq. ft of the two floors of the original building once used as a livery, but then I purchased the historic “Dr. Lee” building next door and added a new department we call the Hungry Crow. This new endeavor offers a market and tasting room. Our vision is to offer as many local and regional products as possible. Summers we serve fabulous soft serve and hard ice cream directly from the dairy. Eating close to the source is a mindset that we support. We offer cheeses, maple products, chocolate crafted in town, locally roasted coffees and so much more to our guests.

We are happy to share its bounty with you.

For over 20 years we have been furnishing the homes, cabins and great camps of Adirondackers far and wide. We pride ourselves on a philosophy and style we call “nature inspired”. Wander through displays of housewares, accessories, unique light fixtures, table settings and garden features.
In the historic stable below, find furniture made from hickory, red cedar and reclaimed barn timbers, displayed with mountain-themed lighting, artwork and taxidermy, adorned with colorful blankets from Pendleton, Hudson Bay and Woolrich.
Our Adirondack Interior Services can help you with all your interior decision making. Share your vision with us and let us do the work to pull it all together, a little or a lot! Call for an in-home consultation, for new construction, or a home that needs a little re-construction!
In 2010, we purchased a custom Adirondack-style townhome in North Creek, NY. The home was going to be our second home, the much planned for mountain home we had dreamed of for years. Given the special nature of the home, and all the customization we were putting into it, design choices were very important to us. At the time we lived in Dallas so were concerned about how we might stay on top of design and construction. Our worries were...
This store is an Adirondack gem. When we built our “camp” nine years ago, we shopped almost everywhere inside and outside the Blue Line. We kept coming back here to get our basic furnishings and ever since keep coming back for our finishing touches. What sets Hudson River Trading Company apart is not just the uniqueness, variety and quality of their products, but a staff that’s knowledgeable about those products and interior design. And if they don’t have it, they...
When my husband, Glen, and I bought our vacation home 3 years ago, Laurie and her staff had just begun staging the house for sale. Upon closing we immediately let Laurie know that we would purchase the existing furniture because it fit the house so well. Then, the chore of finishing the house began but Laurie had great suggestions and even delivered and set up our purchases when we were away. We spent Christmas in North Creek 2 years ago...
We love to restore old buildings, so when the opportunity to purchase the adjacent building presented itself, we jumped at the opportunity. This 1800’s historic building had been the home to a country doctor and his family for generations. Along the way a number or other businesses had called it home, so we were delighted to put our renovation skills to work. New windows and doors, insulation, plumbing and a new heating system were just a start. After almost 8 months of hard work we introduced our pride and joy. Now we had a design site to show people how we could work with them to make their projects harmonize. From wall colors to fabrics, carpeting and furniture that fit the personality of the building. Our furniture craftsmen created custom cabinetry for us and we poured the amazing concrete countertops in the barn on the property. We squeezed the nickel till the buffalo pooped! We know how to achieve goals under a budget.
Now you can use our design center for a vacation rental. Weekends or by the week. We have tried to add very special amenities for your enjoyment. And we are conveniently located on Main Street North Creek overlooking Gore Mountain on the front porch and The Hudson River on the back porch. Close to wine bars and grocery stores, taverns and shopping. You can jump in the Hudson River with your kayak in the back and ride 15K of single track professionally built mountain bike trails in the adjacent Town Park. Give us a call we would love to host you.
The Adirondack Park is the largest park in the contiguous United States and is equal to the size of the state of Vermont. Half the park is protected as “Forever Wild” and half is private land. This unique mix offers visitors the best of both worlds—a park with no gates and no closing times which is dotted with quaint towns that offer creature comforts.
