In 2010, we purchased a custom Adirondack-style townhome in North Creek, NY. The home was going to be our second home, the much planned for mountain home we had dreamed of for years. Given the special nature of the home, and all the customization we were putting into it, design choices were very important to us. At the time we lived in Dallas so were concerned about how we might stay on top of design and construction. Our worries were quickly abated when we met Laurie Arnheiter, owner of Hudson River Trading Company in North Creek. She had staged and furnished the model with design choices, furniture and accessories that were right in line with what we wanted. She became almost like our private designer, helping with our design, and finding pieces of high end, quality furniture at prices that were very attractive. We saw then and still see today, similar pieces at other stores in the area that are a lot more expensive and not, in our minds, of equal quality.

Laurie and her staff helped with every aspect of design, furniture, linens, window treatments, rugs, and wall coverings. She spent a lot of time inside the house, measuring and then finding the piece or element she thought met our design preferences.

Laurie is very professional, very attuned to understanding your desires in terms of decorating preferences, and works tirelessly in providing the exact design and “feel” you want for your home. We would highly recommend her, and Hudson River Trading, for anyone wanting to design their dream home in the Adirondacks.
